| Week 01 | Introduction to Tekla Structures: Overview of BIM and Tekla Structures, software environment setup (installation, interface, units, project folders), grids, work planes, coordinates, and snapping, modeling hierarchy (assemblies, parts, components), Tekla shortcuts, customization, and productivity tips, essential tools and commands, setting up a new project, creating a basic 3D model (beam, column, plate), exploring views, rendering, and object manipulation |
| Week 02 | Detailing and Modelling – Steel Structures: Creating main structural elements (columns, beams, braces), member properties (profiles, materials, positions), standard components (base plates, end plates, cleats, stiffeners), editing tools (copy, mirror, move, array, rotate), custom grids and work planes |
| Week 03 | Connections and Error Checking: Inserting bolted and welded connections, Adjusting component parameters and custom connections, Clash checking and error rectification, Applying model filters and selection tools, Use of reference models (DWG, IFC) for coordination, Perform clash check and fix detected conflicts |
| Week 04 | Steel Detailing – Drawings and Documentation: Types of drawings (single-part, assembly, erection), Editing drawing properties and dimensioning, Creating title blocks and company templates, Understanding numbering, reports, and revision management |
| Week 05 | Review and Mini Project – Structural Steel Building: Complete a small steel building model, apply all learned connection types, produce all drawings (single-part, assembly, erection), generate material lists and bolt lists. Deliverable: full drawing set + BOM for the modeled structure |
| Week 06 | Detailing and Modelling – PEB Structures: Introduction to Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEB), Concept of PEB structures and components, Comparison with conventional steel buildings, Understanding tapered sections and portal frame geometry, Setting up grids and reference planes for PEB modeling, Model a basic PEB portal frame |
| Week 07 | PEB Structural Detailing: Inserting typical PEB connections (haunch, base plate, eave strut, purlin/girt connections), Modeling secondary members (purlins, girts, bracings, sag rods), Adding roof sheeting and wall cladding elements, Assigning member numbering and organizing phases |
| Week 08 | PEB Drawings and Documentation: Types of PEB drawings (single-part, assembly, erection), Customizing PEB drawing templates and title blocks, Extracting fabrication lists, bolt lists, and sheeting schedules, Generate detailed drawings and reports for PEB frame |
| Week 09 | Review and Mini Project – PEB Industrial Shed: Complete a small industrial PEB model (columns, rafters, purlins, sheeting), Apply realistic connections and detailing, Generate full drawing sets and BOM |
